New DUI suit for contaminated water
Rubber outfit offers ultimate protection in foul conditions
US-based manufacturer DUI is introducing a new drysuit with extra protection against contaminated water.
Diving Unlimited International’s CXO – for ‘Contaminated eXtreme Operations’ – is a sharp-looking and hardy piece of kit.
The design team reappraised every aspect of the demands placed on a suit by public safety divers, such as the police.
Challenging environments frequently encountered include polluted rivers, canals, sewers and stagnant pools.
Luckily, the CXO is made of laminated Polyurethane, and DUI has paid special attention to potential failure points. Thus it also has special seams, zipper, seals, and valves, with matching hood and pairing for full-face mask.
It’s fitted with special contaminated water valves, using Fluorosilicone o-rings on the inlet and a double exhaust diaphragm with a check valve.
There are special DUI ZipSeals on the neck and wrist, with reinforcement on the knees, waist and shoulders.
The CXO is available in either black or red and black, in five sizes from S to XXL, with a made-to-measure service also available.
