Guide to Gozo shore dives
Maps and details of most popular sites around the island
There’s a new book available describing 20 of Gozo’s best shore dives.
The island of Gozo lies around 5 miles to the northwest of Malta.
the best Malta has to offer
And like its larger Mediterranean cousin, Gozo is famed for its spectacular underwater scenery, in particular caves and rock formations.
Author Richard Salter has been diving in the area for many years and ranks Gozo as the best Malta has to offer.
He is a guide and instructor and works for St. Andrews Divers Cove in Xlendi Bay on the island.
Written with his knowledge of the area, Richard’s book 20 Shore Diving Maps of Gozo is a handy pocket-sized guide to the pick of the sites.
Favourites including the Xlendi Bay tunnel, the Blue Hole and Dwejra all feature, as do a few of the lesser-known gems and more inaccessible spots.
Each entry has a written description including entry and access points, sights, notable marine life, depths and stops. A detailed map of the site accompanies each one.
The book retails for 7 euros and should prove useful if you have a trip to Gozo planned.
You can learn more about the book at Richard’s Facebook page, and purchase a copy via online auction site eBay.
