Air Travel from Cressi
Italian flair marks out duo of aeroplane-friendly BCDs
A new duo of travel friendly BCDs from Cressi has arrived in time for the 2011 dive season.
The Cressi Air Travel and Air Travel Lady are the latest offerings from the Italian manufacturer.
The range joins the burgeoning market for airline-friendly dive gear, particularly welcome as the cost of flying abroad increases.
Cressi’s Air Travel BCD has a back-inflation design in the style of a wing, although the cut is of a traditional stab jacket.
At just 2.5kg, it’s certainly at the lighter end of the scale. Weight reduction is at the expense of features: there’s one pocket, no D-rings and no substantive back plate.
However, this lack of skeleton allows the Air Travel to be folded in two and fitted into a complimentary travel bag.
Male and female versions differ slightly in design and sizing – plus the obligatory (what else) blue versus pink colour schemes.
The Cressi Air Travel and Air Travel Lady BCD are available from retailers this spring, priced under 300 pounds.
