New Farnes dive guide on way
178 sites dived and detailed in Ron Young’s latest work
A new guide book to diving the Farnes and Lindisfarne is about to go on sale.
‘The Farnes and Holy Island – a Comprehensive Dive Guide’ is the work of Ron Young. Ron qualified as a sport diver eons ago and liked diving so much he then went on to complete almost 3,700 dives around the world.
Over the years he has written many articles for diving magazines, as well as other books including The Comprehensive Guide to Shipwrecks of the North East Coast, volumes I & II.
The Farnes Islands and Lindisfarne (Holy Island) will need no introduction for british divers. Located off the windswept Northumberland coast, the Farnes are made up of 28 individual islands, with 178 sites dived and documented by the author.
The rocky isles are also home to a large seal colony and millions of seabirds. In Ron’s book, wrecks, marine life, tides and points of interest are all laid bare, along with those all-important GPS co-ordinates.
So if you’re planning a trip to the Farnes, this tome should make sure you don’t miss the unmissable.
Available in softback with a colour picture section, The Farnes and Holy Island by Ron Young is available at the end of Feb/early March, priced £19.99 from Whittles Publishing.
